Working with the street kids

We had our first meeting with the street kids yesterday. It was good, but there was few of them that came this monday. We mostly just got to know the place, but we'll have tho whole program eventually:) Tomorrow we will play soccer with them at the parade.

Most of theese kids run away from home because the streets seems safer tham theire house. We would think it's safer inside, at home with mom and dad, but for them it means beeing beaten up, raped, molested, .. you name it. They spend the day begging for money for food and drugs. The pop thing is to sniff glue.. eventuallsy it comes out theire pores and they smell like it. It kills their brain, it kills their bodies.. and it kills the pain.

At the same time as we feel sorry for them, we have to remember that they choose to stay on the street. There's lots of organisations working to help them of the streets, but they keep going back. It's theire family..

Pray for us in this minestry, couse we can do nothing. Only God can change theire hearts, and we pray that he will. He has hope and future in his hands for them as he has for us.
